I had a problem like that, and I could resolved it. I press the buttons combination to erase the firmware and then I update the firmware with the software zune. I contacted support and they told me if I shipped them mine, they would send me a refurbished one for $109.00!!!! Are they out of their f'n mind??? Woot just had refurbished ones for $90.00. If you think about it, $109.00 plus giving them mine (which my just be a software issue) and allowing them to resell it, is the equivalence of around $200.
