October 25th, 2009 by zune

I had all my songs on my windows media player and I couldn’t get them from that. Now I burn them onto the software and I still can’t synce them. Shit I just paid 140 for this and I can’t use it.

That’s one way to charge the Zune, yes. I have a Gomadic tip that allows me to charge the Zune separately from the computer since I charge my Zune more often than I sync it.

I can’t load vids??I made two folders. Did the routine, it reads pending, but then I check and it does’t load or do anything?? song load fine?? wtf? Sorry. Little frustrated, this is my only zune set back. It also says something about draging? I tried draging vids, but no luck, I don’t even know exactly where to drag them to..Any advise is helpful..Thank.

Sure - you just need to create multiple playlists, and drag and drop the songs you want onto each playlist “Slow Rock”, “Fast Rock”, etc.

    I have one dumb question

Some of my songs are fast, some are slow, happy, sad, angry, but they might all be “Rock” genre.

If I want to have a playlist with all my rock songs, and another with all my “fast” songs, and another with only one or two artist in particular, can I format the zune to create multiple playlists of which may contain some of the same songs?

I’m usually in the mood for one type of song but genres don’t have enough classification for the way I want to organize.

The Zune software will work with Windows XP or Windows Vista.

It syncs, but it doesn’t sync anything. It just tells me there were 19 items not added. Though in the sync group, it tells me there are 19 songs. Why won’t they add?
    thanks

Alright, I tried what you said. Well, first I completely cleared my Zune to start from scratch. I then started with my sync groups. I made my first one, entitled “As Tall As Lions”. I went into the sync group, made it so under Album Artist it said As Tall As Lions, and left everything else the way it was. I click OK and then go to the status.

WHat should i do if it says that my Zune is’nt connected but it is… I even tried all the usb ports and still no luck…. :^|

Unfortunately using folders as the sole method of organization is the old way of doing things - the Zune software, and indeed most software, reads the file metadata to understand what the song it, what album it’s from, etc. My suggestion is to download the free tool MediaMonkey (Google it) and you can use it to update the metadata on all your files. Hopefully even if the metadata is wrong, your file name are right. If the file names aren’t right…then you’re in for some work.

I am finding a problem that I am facing. I bought my Zune a week ago. I doubt there is any problem with the software or my product. My problem is that I have songs from a number of sources which I have categorized myself on my own computer into folders that I prefer. When I try transferring them to my Zune, however, the folders dissapear and all of them are in one gigantic album on my Zune. Can you tell me what would be best for me to do and still keep those files in those folders that I prefer?

Sync groups were indeed introduced in 2.0, but they were useless - you couldn’t create your own, you’d only have them created for you when you dragged an album across. What exists in 2.5 is much better - not perfect, but much better.

    what is zync

  19. ThoughtsMedia said:

It likely means that your video files are in Divx, Xvid, or another format that the Zune software can’t cope with.

i don’t know if you answer these but i had some dvds ripped onto my comp and i can watch them but i cannot ever get the to go on my video playists or anything to sync or add onto my zune please help i am extremely frustrated

Just some clarifications… sync groups were introduced in 2.0 not new 2.5. Sync Groups are NOT the same as autoplaylists. They simply describe criteria for syncing media to the Zune device. Think of them as “autosynclists”.
